Join Damian Young and Welker White on the campus of Brooklyn College, July 24-29, 2017 for a pair of intensives: a 5-day Screen Acting Intensive exploring working in the world of film and television; and a 1-day On-Camera Audition Intensive that strengthens actors’ audition skills.
Proud to have been a part of the training for this special group of MFA Actors from Brooklyn College! Go see them rock their Spring Showcase! Monday April 24th 1pm and 6pm @ Theatre Row Studios 410 W. 42nd street NYC.
Had a great time bringing Wilderness to the Penn State campus. Wonderful engagement with faculty, students, staff and community around issues of mental health and addiction. Next stop University of Illinois!
My husband Damian Young and I taught 2 Screen-Acting workshops this February to professional actors in Melbourne, Australia. Such a treat to meet these amazing actors as well as take in the sights and sounds of the rich and varied landscape of such a beautiful country. Hope to return soon!
I spent a week at NYU’s Graduate Acting Program helping to inaugurate their new Film/TV initiative with my Screen Acting Intensive. Had a great time with the second year students discussing film acting, analyzing clips from a variety of filmed content, learning how to identify camera angles, and, most importantly, trying our hand at all sorts of filmed scenes. Our amazing camera crew-Yossera and Federico- shot the students’ scenes all over the 5th Floor of NYU Tisch! The last day was spent watching the work and discussing. Great fun.
Wilderness begins a national tour to colleges and universities in early 2017. Excited to bring this show to college students and engage them in conversation around issues of mental health. First up is Penn State’s Eisenhower Auditorium on March 15 and University of Illinois’ Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on March 28th.
I’ll be teaching a week-long workshop of The Art and Craft of Screen Acting at NYU’s Graduate Acting Program in mid-December, as part of their new Film/TV Initiative. I’m thrilled to help inaugurate this new program!
En Garde Arts’ production of Wilderness just closed a run at Abrons Arts Center. It received rave reviews and was a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Wilderness is a documentary theatre project about families navigating the rough waters of addiction and mental health with their adolescent children.
